Aaronson to look over his shoulder as Farke shares Leeds update

Brenden Aaronson has to put in a strong performance against Derby County on Saturday otherwise he could find his position in Daniel Farke’s starting line-up under threat.

Leeds captain Ethan Ampadu has been out of action since the end of September due to suffering from a knee injury. However, Farke has confirmed that the midfielder could return to action from 14 December.

Should the 24-year-old be available for Leeds by then, Aasronson could find himself out of the side amid a spell of frustrating form from the midfielder.

Brenden Aaronson needs to impress against Derby to secure his place in the Leeds United line-up

Despite a good start to the campaign, that has led to his manager sticking by him, Aaronson has struggled to be effective in the number 10 position of late with no goals or assists in his last five games for the Whites.

Meanwhile, if Ampadu is set to be ready to return for Leeds, we will no doubt see him included in the side as the Whites boss has shown that he is a big fan of the captain and will be looking forward to having him available again.

If this is the case though, then we could easily see the manager of the West Yorkshire outfit opt to push one of Ao Tanaka or Joe Rothwell further up to that 10 position to create a bit of change in the side.

The midfield duo have been highly impressive since they have partnered up this term and you feel as though either one of them could deliver in front of goal if they were given that more attacking role.

Therefore, it is essential for Aaronson to show his worth to the boss in this weekend’s game against Derby as a contribution in front of the goal would surely help cement his place in the side for longer.
