49ers may have set Daniel Farke sack D-Day after new Sky Sports update
Daniel Farke’s job as Leeds United manager is safe for the foreseeable future.
That is according to a new update via Sky Sports on 12 November, with Farke set to undertake Leeds media duties next week as planned.
Farke has been under growing pressure at Leeds after a run of four defeats in five Premier League matches.
Leeds’ 3-1 loss to Nottingham Forest on Sunday leaves them one point above the relegation zone with 11 matches played.
Daniel Farke relying on Elland Road form to stay in Leeds job
As per the Sky Sports update, 49ers chiefs are optimistic that Leeds‘ home form will be enough to keep them in the Premier League this season.
Leeds have collected eight of their 11 points so far this season from home matches, taking an average of 1.60 points-per-game at Elland Road.
That is only the 15th best return in the division, but it would still ultimately help keep the Whites in the division at the current rate.
However, the second that figure drops, the 49ers will surely have to change their stance on the basis of this latest update.
Leeds have the toughest run of fixtures to come in the Premier League over the next four matches, starting with the visit of Aston Villa on 23 November.
| Fixture | Date | Venue |
| Aston Villa | 23/11 | Elland Road |
| Man City | 29/11 | Etihad Stadium |
| Chelsea | 03/12 | Elland Road |
| Liverpool | 06/12 | Elland Road |
Once these next four games are out the way – with fixtures against Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool to follow the Villa clash – Leeds will be lucky to be outside the relegation zone.
That then puts huge pressure on Leeds’ rescheduled fixture with Crystal Palace on 20 December, with that the final home match of 2025.
If Leeds are indeed in the bottom three and lose that winnable fixture at Elland Road, the 49ers will surely question whether the home form will indeed be enough to keep Leeds up.
That 20 December fixture against Palace is therefore already shaping up to be the biggest of Farke‘s Leeds tenure, assuming he is still in the dugout come then.
Leeds now predicted to be relegated by supercomputer
Opta’s supercomputer had Leeds to stay in the division not so long ago, but this recent poor run of form has changed all that.

Indeed, the Whites are now predicted to finish ahead of only Wolves this season, with Burnley the other side expected to go straight back down.
That does not make for good reading as far as Paraag Marathe and Co. are concerned, and it is down to Farke to now turn things around.
This final international break of the calendar year presents a natural time to reflect on the season so far, but it appears Farke has done enough to keep his job for now.
Come this time next month, though, that decision may well be called into question.
