Leeds employee responds to 'mischievous' Daniel Farke update that uses term 'parted company'
Leeds United are yet to announce that they have agreed to new contract terms with Daniel Farke.
The Whites boss' current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, and talks have been ongoing for several weeks.
The German head coach has been repeatedly asked about his future in press conferences and other interviews, but remains focused on helping his side progress in the Premier League.
Farke stirred rumours about his future after making comments about his ambition earlier in the year, suggesting that he will leave if the vision with the club isn't aligned.
It had been reported on Friday that the Whites have agreed terms with the head coach over a new contract.
However, another development revealed that Farke has ditched his agent, even though a deal with Leeds is said to be close.
What's been said after 'mischievous' Daniel Farke update
The Athletic's Beren Cross reported on Friday that Leeds and Farke have agreed terms on a new deal.
There are still final details that need to be agreed before a contract extension is announced.
Sports Broadcaster for the BBC, Adam Pope, also reported the news that Farke had "parted company" with his agent.
Graham Smyth, who is the lead club journalist for Leeds, reacted by commenting under his post, writing: "Mischievous wording, I'm so proud of you".
The humorous comment by Smyth is because several Leeds fans may have initially thought that the update was about to say that their head coach had left the Whites.
The Elland Road faithful have been waiting anxiously for positive news regarding the head coach, and it seems that they may not have to wait too much longer before an announcement is made.
Does anything change for Leeds in January after Farke update?
Many Leeds fans may have been looking ahead to the January transfer window, wondering if the 49ers would splash the cash despite the uncertainty around Farke.
The reality is that even if the former Norwich City boss agrees to fresh terms, supporters may have to see a winter window similar to last season's.
Paraag Marathe already stated in the summer that it will take another two seasons for Leeds to operate how they wish in the Premier League, which suggests that sales may be the main focus come the winter.
Of course, Farke will be fully aware of everything, and so long as he agrees to a new contract, that would be the biggest win for Leeds.
