How Leeds United are creating needless uncertainty over Daniel Farke
Leeds United are in a period of calm right now.
White supporters know all too well the chaos that can come with being a Leeds fan.
But things right now are feeling pretty rosy, with Leeds having made a really strong start to the Premier League season.
With two wins and three draws, Leeds have nine points and sit fifth in the still infant Premier League table.
So, it does feel strange that one situation involving Daniel Farke has still to be resolved, especially when it feels like it should have been.
And surely, over the next week or so Leeds will finally bring some news before the domestic football returns.
Leeds United causing pointless chatter over Daniel Farke contract
Farke was the first managerial appointment of the 49ers Enterprises era, and by and large it has been an era of progression.
It took the German two attempts to get Leeds out of the second tier, but they did so as champions in the 2024/25 season.
Last term was all about consolidation, and once Farke found a 3-4-3 formation that sorted his squad Leeds looked a real threat in the Premier League.
Ultimately, the Whites finished well clear of any genuine relegation danger, and it was another season of upward trajectory.
A really strong transfer window has Leeds dreaming of challenging for Europe, and Farke is worthy of regonition for what he has achieved.
But Farke's contract runs out in June, and despite talk that an agreement has been reached in principle the final details have yet tobe sorted.
At a time of such peace at Elland Road, it feels a little needless to have such a huge issue hanging in the air.
Moreover, given the extra-long international break it felt like a great time to make an announcement and just put things to one side on this one.
With players soon to be returning to Thorp Arch, it feels like a missed opportunity if Leeds don't manage to get this done.
Is Daniel Farke's new Leeds contract imminent?
In theory, it feels like everything is running smoothly.
Farke, despite the progress made in his time at the club, still has his dectractors among the fanbase at times.
But realistically, there is not going to be a change of manager now given the strong position Leeds find themselves in.
Moreover, Farke has earned the opportunity to prove he can take Leeds to the next step.
It feels like a decision is imminent, but there has been a missed opportunity to avoid needless uncertainty on Farke's contract.
