Simon Jordan has talked up the chances of Leeds United becoming a top Premier League side that can challenge for the European places.

The Whites moved into the top half of the Premier League with a win over Crystal Palace on Monday night, the club Jordan used to own.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Jordan suggested that foreign investment could take the club to the next level but also fired a warning based on another Premier League club’s current season.

He said, “Leeds are engaging, [Andrea] Radrizzani is getting some investment in from overseas alongside his own wealth.

“The size and breadth of this club, yeah, why not? There is no reason why Leeds won’t be up there.

“But, Wolves have gone into the Premier League, they have immense wealth behind them, they have great heritage as well and they’re suffering this season so there’s no given but I do like Leeds.”

All the talk of new investment at Elland Road has fans dreaming about the potential for Leeds United despite only spending a few months back in the Premier League.

The warning about Wolves’ current predicament is a relevant one but it is skewed somewhat.

Yes, Wolves enjoyed a run in the Europa League last season while competing in the league but this season they have dropped off massively.

But this is mainly down to the injury of Raul Jimenez who remains on the sidelines after he cut his head open against Arsenal.

Wolves don’t have another quality striker to replace their star man so their poor league form is down to poor recruitment, not some massive misjudgement by the powers that be at Molineux.

The future is bright for our club make no doubt about that and with this new investment we have a decent chance of being able to cement ourselves as a top English club once again.

It’s nice that other people are starting to finally think that too.

Especially Jordan, who has been famously anti-Leeds this season.

In other Leeds news, one Whites star has provided a positive injury update ahead of the Arsenal game.
