Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is preparing for Sunday’s game against Arsenal despite picking up a knock against Crystal Palace on Monday.
Phillips was withdrawn late in the game against Palace with what looked like a calf injury which had many Whites sweating over his fitness ahead of a crucial match against the Gunners.
After the game against the Eagles, Leeds Live quoted Marcelo Bielsa as saying, “Sincerely, I don’t know the state of Phillips’s injury now.”
However, on Tuesday morning Phillips posted a tweet which suggested that he may be fit and ready to face Mikel Arteta’s side after all.
After praising Patrick Bamford for racking up 100 career goals the Leeds dynamo added, “Now preparing for next Sunday’s match”, followed by a strong arm emoji.
The fact that Phillips hasn’t mentioned any injury in that tweet and spoke about being ready for the Arsenal game is a huge relief for many Leeds fans.
Great home win on my 200th appearance, first clean sheet of 2021 and into the top half of the table. Lots of reasons to smile today 😀💙💛
Congrats brother @Patrick_Bamford on 100 league goals 🤩 Now preparing for next Sunday's match 💪🏽 pic.twitter.com/jpWqHtj9w5

We all know how we struggle without Phillips and Pascal Struijk utterly failed to replace the 25-year-old when Bielsa asked him to stand in for the midfielder.
We went above the Gunners in the table with the 2-0 win over Palace and Bielsa will be looking to keep us there with a win at The Emirates.
The 0-0 draw at Elland Road earlier this season was one of the most frustrating games we have watched this season as the woodwork saved the London side on numerous occasions.
On another night we’d have put five or six past the ten-man Gunners but we had to make do with a point.
All three will be on the cards now that we look to have found our form and consistency again following recent wins over Newcastle, Leicester and Palace.
We are no doubt a better team with Phillips starting so it is great to see that his injury may not be as bad as first feared.
In other Leeds United news, Darren Bent claims that one Leeds ace will have surprised himself with his form this season.
