What Gabriel Gudmundsson said about Leeds teammate is great news for fans
Gabriel Gudmundsson has featured in every single Premier League game for Leeds this season.
Gudmundsson has recovered brilliantly from his own goal at Fulham, putting in excellent performances for his new side.
Gudmundsson’s reaction against Fulham was really telling, but he has bounced back and cemented himself as Leeds’ number one option at left-back.
Leeds signed the Swedish international as a replacement for Junior Firpo in the summer, and the blip at Fulham aside, he has more than delivered.

Gabriel Gudmundsson heaps praise on ‘great player’ Noah Okafor
Gudmundsson has been a staple along Leeds’ left-hand side, providing an outlet going forward and being solid in defence.
The Swede has linked up well with fellow new signing Noah Okafor on Leeds’ left wing, and Gudmundsson was full of praise for his teammate.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Gudmundsson said: “Noah is a great, great player, he’s shown that in a top league for Milan in Serie A, and as well in the Champions League.“
The defender also spoke about how important his relationship with Okafor is on the pitch for Leeds’ success.
“Great player, great person as well. Just keep playing with each other, you know, and time will tell that we will have an even better relationship on the pitch.
“Because I think when you play more with each other, you get to know each other even more.”
Partnerships will be key for Leeds, and it is great that two new signings are already showing how well they can play and link up together.
Leeds’ new signings continue to deliver
Gudmundsson arrived from Lille for £10million in the summer as one of Leeds’ 11 signings ahead of the Premier League season.
Leeds have already seen some of their new arrivals hit the ground running and contribute to their good run of form.
A selection of Leeds’ summer signings | Fee |
Noah Okafor | £17million |
Anton Stach | £17million |
Sean Longstaff | £12million |
Gabriel Gudmundsson | £10million |
Dominic Calvert-Lewin | Free |
Anton Stach has been a revelation for Leeds and has formed a solid partnership alongside Sean Longstaff and Ethan Ampadu in the middle.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has also looked good leading the line, and looks like a real handful for opposition defenders.
Leeds invested a lot of money into the squad in the summer to ensure Premier League survival, and so far, the majority have delivered.
Fans at Elland Road will hope this trend continues and they continue to see their new players reach higher and higher levels.
