Weston McKennie booked on 3:30pm Sunday flight to England ahead of Leeds United transfer – Sky Sports Italy
Weston McKennie is on the verge of completing his Leeds United move, with the Juventus midfielder booked on a 3:30pm flight to the UK in order to complete the deal, according to Sky Sports Italy.
An agreement has finally been reached between the Whites and Juventus to bring the American midfielder in before the close of the January transfer window on Monday [31 January].
Sky Sports Italy [28 January] reported: “Juventus and Leeds have reached a verbal agreement: a 1.5 million euro loan with a fixed redemption right of 35 million which can become an obligation under certain conditions.

McKennie is now booked on a 3:30pm flight (4:30pm in Italian time), according to Sky Sports Italy [29 January] and is “ready to wear the Leeds shirt”.
The report goes on to state the Whites are expected to “the transfer into a definitive one at the end of the season, either under the conditions established or by renegotiating them later.”
The good collaboration and relationship between the two managers Giovanni Manna and Victor Orta was important in closing the deal.
Top signing
Leeds United are making a huge statement with the signing of the 41-time USA international.
And the Whites will certainly be anticipating this acquisition as McKennie is the midfielder the Whites have needed for a long while.

The 24-year-old has shown throughout his career that he has the quality to perform at the top level both at club level and on the international stage.
He’s endured a stop-start period at Juventus since his move in 2021 but has still gone on to register 13 goals and five assists from 96 games for the Serie A giants.
The Leeds faithful will be desperate to see how he fares alongside his international teammates in Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson. But more importantly, while this is a top signing for the club, it certainly increases the pressure on Marsch to deliver the results the club needs in cementing their status in the Premier League for next season.
If the former Red Bull Salzburg coach can get McKennie playing at the peak of his powers along with the rest of his squad, then there’s no reason why they can’t enjoy a much better second-half of the season.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites appear to be on the cusp of another January signing as a player’s agent jets into the United Kingdom to conduct final transfer talks.
