West Ham could make cut-price moves for Leeds United duo Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips

West Ham are reportedly keeping a ‘close eye’ on Leeds United and their relegation situation in the coming weeks.

According to Claret and Hugh, the likes of Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips continue to be on their radar after their failed January pursuit.

It’s understood that they could eye cut-price swoops should Leeds get relegated to the Championship as a number of players could want out.

It’s baffling that West Ham think they’re good enough to sign the likes of Raphinha and Phillips.

Sure, they’re in a European semi-final and have a chance of playing Champions League football next season.

But they’re nowhere close to the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona or Bayern Munich.

These are the kinds of clubs that the duo will play for should they leave Elland Road at any point in the next few years.

With regards to relegation, the Whites find themselves five points clear of Everton.

They do have a tricky run of fixtures, but there’s no guarantee that the Toffees or Burnley are suddenly going to find form from out of the blue.

The Whites are in a comfortable position going into the last few weeks of the season and they will be selling players based on what suits them.

Raphinha seems headed for the exit door while there’s a chance that Phillips stays put for at least one more season.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
