View: Victor Orta’s Leeds United transfer strategy needs immediacy
Leeds United have strictly adhered to their structural transfer strategy in the last few years, especially under Marcelo Bielsa.
However, Victor Orta must understand that sometimes in football it needs immediacy and Leeds cannot waste this opportunity.
Under Bielsa, we have seen Leeds usually don’t make panic buys. Bielsa is more than happy to work with players he has got.

Phil Hay is absolutely spot on when he wrote for The Atheltic that under Bielsa Leeds “take time with targets, pick the right moment to go for them and move in when everyone is certain.”
Clearly, that’s how attention has been shifted to RB Salzburg’s Brenden Aaronson and Leeds’ desperate need to sign him.
Until last week, Leeds had tabled a £15million bid for the American. They submitted a revised £20m bid after the opening offer was rejected.
Hay suggested that the second bid has not been accepted. If Salzburg continue to play hardball, Leeds are likely to wait for him till the summer.
That is what their approach has been always. Bielsa will wait for the right player. But what about the current situation?

There’s been absolutely nothing to suggest that Leeds are bordering on emergency. They have little or no interest in fixing problems, even signing players on short-term deals.
It’s understandable that Leeds aren’t willing to pay over the top for the 21-year-old but surely Orta and Bielsa must come up with short-term fixes as well.
With Patrick Bamford still not fit enough, and Leeds missing Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper, how long can Bielsa stay rigid with his idea that the Whites have enough to see out this season?
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are set to table a sneaky £22million bid to secure major new January signing
