View: Leeds could return for Cuisance after big club decision
The future of Michael Cuisance, whose move to Leeds United collapsed in the summer, is up in the air after failing to impress while on loan at Marseille.
There were rumours that the Bayern Munich midfielder failed his Leeds medical though the player denied this was the case.
After not starting Marseille’s last three Ligue 1 games, the future of Cuisance seems to be up in the air with the French side yet to decide whether they will try to keep him when his loan expires.
German sports reporter Manuel Bonke has claimed a decision over the 21-year-old’s future could be made this month.
He tweeted, “A decision about a possible return for Michael Cuisance from Marseille to Bayern falls at the end of March at the earliest.
“The player wants to wait and see if and how the new Marseille coach Jorge Sampaoli plans with him.”
Sampaoli took over from Andre Villas-Boas in late February after AVB was controversially sacked for speaking out over the club’s transfer dealings.
It seems as though the next few weeks will have a major bearing on Cuisance’s immediate future.
Marcelo Bielsa is clearly a fan of his as the club went so far as to bring him to England before his transfer fell through.
If the player returns to Bayern at the end of the season could we see Radz and Co. return for the Frenchman?
He hasn’t particularly impressed this season as on the 10 occasions he played as an attacking midfielder he only returned one assist.
This is hardly inspiring though and it indicates why Marseille are yet to make a decision on his future.
However, other players we have signed have looked poor in other leagues before making the big step up to the Premier League.
We will always trust Bielsa and if Cuisance becomes available again this summer it would make sense that we would return for him.
We’re sure Radrizanni is watching this story unfold with keen interest.
This update is certainly intriguing and you can’t rule out Leeds reigniting their interest in the 21-year-old in the summer.
