Victor Orta will need to play blinder to convince Adama Traore to secure Leeds transfer

Victor Orta will need to play a “blinder” in order for Leeds United to sign Wolves winger Adama Traore this summer, according to Birmingham Live.

It is reported that the Wolves board want £20million for the Spaniard, who spent most of the 2021-22 season on loan at cash-strapped Barcelona.

Traore is said to not be excited by the prospect of a move to Elland Road, and Leeds will need to convince him should they stump up the cash needed.

Writing in the latest column for Birmingham Live, Alex Dicken shared the trump card that the Whites may have as they look to secure a deal.

“The Molineux top brass are hoping to secure around £20m for Traore, who joined from Middlesbrough for £18m four years ago,” he wrote.

“However, a move to Leeds isn’t likely to excite Traore in the same way Barcelona’s interest in January did. If Leeds are to convince Traore to move up north, their director of football Victor Orta will have to play a blinder.”

Blinder.

Orta has been a very busy man at the start of this summer.

Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen were both confirmed before the window even opened, and now Marc Roca has now made it three signings.

All eyes are now on signing number four, with everyone knowing that serious reinforcements are needed this summer to make sure we are not in the same relegation fight again.

Orta does have the trump card of a close relationship with Traore from their time together at Middlesbrough all those years ago, so that could have a massive impact on any negotiations.

Leeds will need to move for another winger if Raphinha leaves as expected, and the Wolves winger is one of those who has been consistently linked for years now, not just months.

Raphinha would be going for much more than £20million though, so if this was one move targeted afterwards, it makes sense financially for the likes of Andrea Radrizzani.

This is one to keep an eye on.
