Leeds United positioning themselves for big summer bid for new striker - Phil Hay
Leeds United are now positioning themselves for a blockbuster bid to sign a new striker, according to Phil Hay.
The Athletic journalist has reported that with the season over, all eyes are now on the transfer market, with a deal for attacking midfielder Brenden Aaronson already agreed with RB Salzburg.
Hay shared that a deal is being worked on for an unnamed Premier League centre-forward, with this bid likely going to be flying in that direction in the coming weeks.
Writing in his latest piece for The Athletic, Hay shared what is already being prepared at Elland Road which will be music to everyone’s ears.
“At no stage of the [2021] summer window was the signing of an out-and-out centre-forward ever on the agenda, though Leeds are positioning themselves to bid for a striker once this season finishes,” he wrote.
Not messing around.

Andrea Radrizzani has clearly learned his lesson.
After coming in for a lot of stick in recent weeks and months, the owner is already making money available less than 24 hours after securing Premier League survival.
Leeds fans have been crying out for a new striker for years now, as well as a new central midfielder, and it finally looks as though we are going to get our wishes this summer.
Patrick Bamford only made seven starts this season with two substitute appearances, and that is shocking for your main striker to be missing 31 games of a campaign.
Leeds struggled by playing Rodrigo and Dan James out of position, as well as utilising the wonderkid Joe Gelhardt, who was sensational at times.
That made it very clear that we need another number nine specialist though, and it looks as though we will push to make that become a reality this summer.
