Victor Orta plans to quit Leeds United for Spain, Sky Sports pundit slams ‘disappointing’ stance
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has admitted he is “disappointed” to hear of Victor Orta’s plans to leave Leeds United and return to Spain at some point in the future.
Orta admitted in an interview with Spanish media (28 March) that he has “selfish” plans to return to Spain in the “medium term” future.
Robinson believes his comments should be taken with a pinch of salt with Orta’s future depending on how much input he has at Elland Road.

“I would’ve read more into his comments if Jesse Marsch was still in charge,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“When Marsch was here I think Orta had his nose put out a bit with the recruitment when Jesse was at the club you question how much of a say Orta had, but previously under Bielsa, he recruited a lot of quality players.
“Whereas now he’s back involved with the recruitment of the new manager and it depends on his involvement going forward.

“It’s disappointing to hear someone talking about going elsewhere when they are in a job, but, that’s football.”
It’s been an eventful year for the Spaniard, with the sporting director involved in a number of controversial incidents during the 2022/23 season.
