Victor Orta long-term admirer of Leeds United-bound Manchester City sensation Darko Gyabi

Victor Orta has reportedly been a long-term admirer of Leeds United target and Manchester City sensation Darko Gyabi.

According to LeedsLive, the club chief has made several approaches for the 18-year-old in the past but they have been snubbed.

However, they will now be securing his services for a hefty £5million fee for a player who is yet to make an appearance in top flight football.

Finally gets his man

The Gyabi move certainly came from the left field and stunned a number of Leeds supporters as they’d never previously heard of him.

While there was the expectation that Kalvin Phillips would leave and eventually join City, few expected a player from the Etihad Stadium to come the other way.

The 18-year-old is certainly not going to get too many fans excited as he comes during the time that one of their best players is leaving.

However, if Orta had him on his radar for a while then there must be something to him that made him pursue his services this summer.

He may not be a Phillips replacement but will be close to the first-team picture and we’re expecting him to make his Premier League debut within the first few months of his Leeds United career.

As of now, the focus must be solely on signing a central midfielder who strengthens the first team and can be a like-for-like Phillips replacement.

In other Leeds United news, Fabrizio Romano has shared if a ‘Sensational’ defensive midfielder has agreed terms for an Elland Road switch and become the club’s fourth summer signing.
