Victor Orta locked in Tuesday talks for new Leeds goalkeeper - YEP

Leeds United have already launched into their hunt for a replacement for Kiko Casilla who left the club this week.

The Spaniard left for Elche on loan, with a permanent clause included in the deal, leaving Illan meslier as the only senior keeper.

The Yorkshire Evening Post have shared a major update on the hunt already, with Victor Orta locked in talks today for a potential replacement.

Graham Smyth has insisted that the Whites are keen to conclude any deal before the first pre-season friendly at Guiseley.

That is two weeks away, leaving Orta with plenty of time to work with.

Interestingly, Leeds are said to be looking for another young stopper, rather than bringing in another experienced head.

Gaby Ruiz, the European recruitment chief at Elland Road, identified this unnamed player at the same time as Meslier and could conclude the deal to finally bring him to West Yorkshire.

It is suggested that this player has since had plenty of first-team action, and based on that, should arrive as a better version of himself.

Orta will be praying talks to go well today, and then we should start to see some progression and this one could get wrapped up quickly.

Meslier has been one of the best young signings in a long time at Elland Road, and with another rising sensation pushing him along, he could become even better.
