Victor Orta hopes to have Leeds signings made before pre-season begins

Victor Orta was asked how close Leeds were to their first summer signing, and he replied saying he wants to complete all deals before Leeds United begin pre-season.

He hopes to have brought in his targets before the end of June, which means the next few weeks promise to be a busy period for the club.

That could mean a number of additions and possible outgoings to raise money for player sales, although Orta refused to go into the details.

Appearing on The Phil Hay Show podcast, Orta was asked how close Leeds are to their first signing of the summer.

He replied, “It’s a strange market, I think obviously I want all the new players to start pre-season.

“I still have a long month of June and obviously I hope that the month of June we can finish the job.

“We can put our effort but it is not always just our side. Perhaps from our side it is all done but there are a lot of people involved and it is out of our control.”

Busy month ahead

Orta’s comments are very exciting as it promises to bring transfer activity to the club over the coming weeks.

Things are never simple and Orta was determined to make that clear, but we trust his ability to land the club’s main targets.

And his eagerness to complete deals before the end of next month means we could see departures.

Gjanni Alioski has been given a new deal but his hesitancy to put pen to paper means the club could run out of patience and withdraw the offer.

Orta will likely be keen to strengthen the left-back area, particularly if Alioski leaves, and the Macedonian’s stalling does not help the club one bit.

It will be highly beneficial for all of our signings to undergo pre-season training under Marcelo Bielsa, and therefore we hope Orta achieves his goal.
