Victor Orta hopes to complete one Leeds United signing by next week

Victor Orta is working extremely hard to sign at least one more player for Leeds United before next week, according to Graham Smyth of the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Whites have already secured the signing of Brenden Aaronson who will officially join on 1 July after penning a five-year deal.

Leeds are working on a deal for right-back Rasmus Kristensen who would cost in the region of £10m.

The defender is expected to be involved in Denmark’s four internationals over the next 11 days, but Orta is hoping to secure his signature within the next few days.

Major coup

A few weeks ago, he looked all set to sign for Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund, but Leeds apparently have hijacked the deal.

Signing a right-back is necessary this summer. Both Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas have undergone surgeries and no timeline has been framed as to when the duo could return.

Marcelo Bielsa played a big role in attracting top players around Europe, and Jesse Marsch is continuing the tradition in his own way.

Beating Borussia Dortmund in the race suggests that it’s a big coup for the club. But most importantly, Kristensen is a player who ticks a lot of boxes.

He knows Marsch’s systems very well, and it could be a seamless transition for him. The Danish defender has the experience of playing in the Champions League and brings with him loads of quality.

The summer window has started with a bang for Leeds, and it seems, the second signing is just around the corner.

Marsch wants to add depth to the squad, and therefore, fans can expect more signings to take place.
