Rodrigo is set to miss the game against Palace on Saturday after testing positive for Covid-19 and that has had plenty of Leeds United fans worried about other players.
However, Athletic journalist Phil Hay has confirmed that there are no other cases of Covid at Leeds ahead of the Palace game.
Talking on the latest episode of the Phil Hay Show on The Athletic Hay said, “Rodrigo is obviously missing with Covid and he is going to be re-evaluated next week.
“He is the only case of Covid at Leeds which is very good news, there are no other issues with the squad.
“Bielsa did ‘fess up about going to the supermarket without a mask and he sounded very guilty about that.”
Relief over Rodrigo situation
Rodrigo is a big miss for Leeds and we think he would have started against both Leicester and Palace if he’d been fit and well.
However, this could have been so much worse. Rodrigo picked it up from a family member and could easily have passed this across to other players at Thorp Arch.
Standard Liege lost six players to Coronavirus this week and it would have been a disaster if it had spread through the Leeds squad.
Thankfully, it looks like the system in place at Leeds is working and the harm has been minimal.
Both Diego Llorente and Kalvin Phillips are still out injured for Saturday’s game but should be back for Arsenal after the international break.
Raphinha could well make the bench against Palace as he faces a late fitness test ahead of the 3pm kick-off on Saturday.
