Tyler Roberts agent likely to assess options over Leeds United exit
Leeds United attacker Tyler Roberts could be on his way out of Elland Road this summer, claims LeedsLive reporter Beren Cross.
He believes that should there be two central midfielders arriving at the club, Roberts and his agents would be assessing options over an exit.
The 23-year-old has struggled to make an impact this season despite making 21 appearances in the Premier League.
On the LeedsLive website, Cross wrote, “If the club were to add two central midfielders to the squad, Bamford returned to full fitness and Gelhardt evolved as we expect then it does become tougher for Roberts.
“I would not be surprised if he and his agent were assessing their options in the summer if that recruitment drive came in the positions he plays in.”
Given the number of injuries Leeds have suffered this season, it was the perfect chance for Roberts to step up.
Marcelo Bielsa has seen him as someone capable of leading the line and has put him ahead of Joe Gelhardt in the pecking order.
However, he’s only managed to score one league all season and has provided another assist despite playing in over half of the matches for the Whites.
At 23, there may be some upside in his game, but he’s unlikely to realise his true potential at Elland Road.
Roberts was hailed for his “Stunning” rise to prominence a few years ago, but unfortunately, it’s now turning into a decline and Leeds must cash in on him before it’s too late.
