Trevor Sinclair: Illan Meslier could lose chance to seal Leeds exit after scouts watch Man City defeat
Trevor Sinclair has insisted that Leeds United stopper Illan Meslier could have lost the chance to seal a big exit from Elland Road.
The talkSPORT pundit bizarrely suggested that with Manchester United scouts watching during the 7-0 loss at City on Tuesday, he didn’t do his chances of an Old Trafford move any favours.
Scouts from our bitter rivals are said to rate Meslier as one of the best keepers in the Premier League ahead of a potential move.
Speaking on talkSPORT in the past 24 hours, Sinclair was acting as though Meslier would want to join the Whites’ biggest rivals.
“Meslier – Tony Coton who is one of the chief scouts at Manchester United was watching Meslier I believe,” he said.
“They believe he’s one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and he shipped seven, so I don’t know if that’s going to do his chances any good at getting that move to Manchester United.”
What on earth is Sinclair spouting here?
This is typical nonsense from another pundit who feels as though they can say whatever they want because they’re live on talkSPORT.
Sinclair has seen that Manchester United may have sent scouts to watch Meslier, and instantly assumed that a move is bound to happen.
The young Frenchman has made Leeds his home, and one of the first things he will have learned is the bitter rivalry and hatred towards Manchester United.
They have no chance of making that move happen, and Meslier will know that he is one of the players that this squad is being built around after signing his new long-term contract recently.
Keep dreaming, this is not happening.
