Transfer window opens as Leeds United transfer expectation shared on Friday

BBC Radio Leeds journalist Adam Pope has shared that he is “not expecting much” from Leeds United in regard to moves on day one of the transfer window, via his account on X.

The West Yorkshire outfit are readying themselves for a busy summer with the club having to ensure they abide by PSR rules before June 30.

There have been plenty of murmurs around the club in regard to potential moves, however, nothing has come to fruition as of yet.

Which players could be leaving Leeds United this summer?

Although the rumour mill has already started to turn, now that the transfer window is officially open, these rumours will likely intensify.

Many of Leeds’ starting players have already been cherry-picked for a move away from the club this summer for many reasons.

However, Leeds’ main concern is the fact that they need to raise up to £100m [Daily Mail, 16 May] as they failed to gain promotion to the Premier League.

In addition to the extortionate amount of money needing to be raised, the fact that the Whites didn’t gain promotion also came as something of a shock.

Alongside Leicester and Southampton, Leeds were touted as one of the favourites to go straight back up the the top flight.

However, despite achieving a total of 90 points, it wasn’t meant to be and the club now finds themselves in the Championship for yet another year.

The likes of Crysencio Summerville and Cody Drameh are just two of the players who have been linked with an exit from Elland Road this term.

However, it’s the former who is most likely to depart. The Netherlands international had a stellar campaign with Leeds.

The attacker played a total of 49 games and contributed to a total of 31 goals. 21 of which comprised his own goals whilst the remaining 10 were assisting his teammates.

With returns like these, it’s no surprise that many Premier League teams are vying for his transfer.
