Tony Yeboah sends message to Leeds fans, says what he is keeping his fingers crossed for
Tony Yeboah is hoping that Leeds United can secure promotion back to the Premier League this season.
Before the coronavirus pandemic brought football to a halt earlier this month, Leeds were top of the Championship table and seven points clear of third with nine matches to play.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been among the favourites to go up all season but there is now a lot of uncertainty as to when the season will be able to resume.
Leeds legend Yeboah is praying that he will see his former side back in the top-flight once the 2020/21 season kicks off.
“The fans and the club deserve to be back in the Premier League,” he said, as quoted by the Express.
“They have the qualities, a fantastic stadium and fantastic management.

“We are all keeping our fingers crossed that Leeds can come back to the Premier League.”
Yeboah added that he wouldn’t have had the career he had if it wasn’t for the Leeds United supporters and how they treated him in his spell at Elland Road.
“I have to tell the Leeds fans they are fantastic, they are super fans,” the Ghanian added.
“Maybe without them I would not be where I am today.”
Without Leeds’ amazing fans, the club would not be in the position it found itself before the current suspension of the Championship season.
Leeds deserve promotion to the Premier League based on how well they’ve played under Bielsa this term and if that does not happen, for whatever reason, it will be a great shame.
It’s been almost 16 years since the Whites last graced the top-flight of English football.
Let’s hope that doesn’t become 17 years or more.
