Tony Dorigo thinks Leeds United miss Ezgjan Alioski
Tony Dorigo believes that Leeds United miss the influence of Ezgjan Alioski.
Writing in his exclusive column for the Yorkshire Evening Post, the former Whites man shared his thoughts on the current group at Elland Road and revealed that they could do with someone like Alioski.
The 29-year-old turned down a new contract in the summer and decided to move to Saudi Arabia, but it is clear that Dorigo thinks the Whites could have kept him.
He said: “When you talk about characters, Gjanni Alioski was one of those, and he meant a lot to the fans and the team.
“Certain players aren’t quite as appreciated as they should be until they’ve gone.
“Is Alioski the best left-back in the world? He’s nowhere near that, but he performed to a high level and brought so many things to the team, with his energy and giving absolutely everything to the cause.

“Sometimes it was just a tackle or something crazy he might have done.
“At times this season when you’ve been looking for something in a game, he hasn’t been there to provide it, so that sort of thing we have missed.”
Do Leeds miss Alioski?
The left-back played a key role for the Whites last season as he appeared in 36 Premier League games.
Of course, the Whites bought Junior Firpo in the summer, so if Alioski had remained, he might not have been starting every week.
However, the former Barcelona man has been missing for chunks of the season, so you would think Alioski could have featured for the Whites at various points had he remained.
Instead, though, he moved on, and you could argue that at times, they have missed that spontaneous moment from someone like Alioski, who could often do something to get the crowd going.
Therefore, we can see where Dorigo is coming from, but in time, we believe that Firpo will prove to be an excellent left-back for Leeds and will do more than enough to replace Alioski both off and on the field.
This could take a bit of time, but Leeds will manage without the North Macedonian.
In other Leeds United news, Dorigo was blown away by one Whites man this week.
