Tony Dorigo shares what he noticed about Bamford and Marsch during Leeds United v Leicester

Tony Dorigo believes that Patrick Bamford is already warming up to Jesse Marsch being in charge at Leeds United.

The former Whites player saw the England international share an embrace with the new manager during the Leicester City clash.

While he did not feature in that game, Dorigo does expect to see him in action against Aston Villa.

The BT Sport pundit told the Yorkshire Evening Post, “I watched Bamford’s little forlorn jog back to the bench when he realised he wouldn’t be going on at Leicester, but Marsch gave him a little hug to say ‘not today, but soon’.

“Under Bielsa, Bamford might have taken a bit longer to get back because of the necessary fitness levels but, clearly, Marsch understands that having Bamford, even for potentially 10 or 15 minutes, will boost everyone around the club. I could see him getting on against Villa.”

Good to see

Bamford was one of the favourites under Marcelo Bielsa so it’s good to see Marsch getting on well with him.

The England international is the club’s leading striker and has to start every game he’s fully fit.

Aston Villa may have come early, but there’s a good chance that he starts against Norwich.

Hopefully, he starts firing in goals left, right and centre, because it’s something the side is clearly lacking.

Hopefully, the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper are also not too long away from full fitness.
