Tony Dorigo impressed by Leeds United man Adam Forshaw

Tony Dorigo was very impressed by Leeds United man Adam Forshaw against Leicester City.

Writing in his column for the Yorkshire Evening Post, the former Whites man and current BT Sport pundit expressed his feelings on Forshaw playing the full 90 minutes against Leicester.

The 30-year-old has had an absolute nightmare with injuries, so to play a full 90 minutes against a side like the Foxes is a major achievement, and you can see why Dorigo was so happy for the midfielder.

He said: “It says a lot about Adam Forshaw that he managed to come back after two years and play a 90-minute game in the Premier League.

“I couldn’t be happier for him.

“For him to show that kind of form is remarkable; it says a lot about his character.

“The reason it stood out so much is that his performance is what we’ve been crying out for. We haven’t been able to control the midfield as we would like in many a game this season.”

Worthy and deserved praise for Forshaw.

The former Brentford and Middlesbrough midfielder had only played two games in the Premier League for Leeds before Sunday, but he turned in a quality display.

It looked as if he had played in the league for a long time, and he helped the Whites turn in arguably their best display of the season in front of a big home crowd.

So this praise isn’t just because he recovered from his injury hell but because he actually played well for the Whites, which is great.

Now, given that Leeds are short of options in the middle of the park, could Forshaw become Kalvin Phillips’ new regular partner?

Well, if he keeps playing like this, we see no reason why he couldn’t, and after the hell he has been through, it would totally be deserved as well.

This is some great praise for Forshaw, and it is totally deserved, so let us all hope he can build on his performance on Sunday.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are looking at signing an England international in January.
