Tim Sherwood: I can't take my eyes off Leeds star Raphinha

Tim Sherwood claims that he could not take his eyes off Raphinha as Leeds United beat Norwich 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.

The Brazilian was arguably the best player on the pitch and got a well-deserved goal for the Whites.

He was also a constant thorn in the Norwich side and deserved all the plaudits that came his way.

Speaking about his performance on Premier League’s post-match show, Sherwood, a Sky Sports pundit, said, “I can’t take my eyes off him. He controls the game. What a phenomenal player.

“His touch for the goal was outstanding. He tucks that away lovely. What a fine player for Leeds.”

Will he stay?

His agent Deco has confirmed that there have been enquiries made for his services and is unwilling to state that he’s committed to staying put at Leeds.

“Raphinha became an important player in the Premier League, the club knows he has grown and things will happen naturally,” Deco is quoted telling Globo Esporte.

“He is young, he has many challenges ahead, there are certainly several clubs that like him, and Liverpool do like him, there were approaches, but nothing official.”

While it is obvious that Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds would love to keep him at the club, whether or not he would want to stay is a big question.

Liverpool are understood to be lurking around and should Sadio Mane leave, they will need to replace him, something which the Brazilian would do, no questions asked.

His sale would give the Whites a decent transfer fee so all will not be gloomy.

The next few months are decisive and we’re hoping that he stays put for another season at least.
