‘The noises we are hearing…’ – Report shares update on lesser seen Leeds ace’s future

Tyler Roberts could yet leave Leeds United this month though no potential loan move is imminent, according to Leeds Live reporter Beren Cross.

Roberts has been linked with a move away from Elland Road this month after struggling for game time this season.

Mirror journalist David Anderson has claimed that Bournemouth and Derby hold an interest in Roberts though Marcelo Bielsa continues to state that he wants Roberts to stay at Leeds.

Cross, speaking to Wales Online about a potential Cardiff loan move for Roberts, claimed that Leeds will not stand in the way of the 22-year-old if he wants to leave.

When asked if Roberts could leave this month, he said, “Yes, he could, but the noises we are hearing would not suggest it’s imminent or he’s being pushed out.”

It was thought that Roberts could pick up some much-needed game time in last weekend’s FA Cup loss to Crawley but the winger wasn’t included in Bielsa’s squad.

This led to speculation over Roberts’ future as it made little sense to not have a talented player who is starved of game time play in what was perceived as an easy game against League Two opposition.

Roberts also didn’t play in Monday’s Premier League 2 game against Burnley which added to the transfer speculation.

Roberts desperately needs game time and it isn’t unfeasible to see him asking for a loan move this month.

After impressing last season he may have thought, like some Leeds fans, that he would be given a chance to impress in the Premier League.

This hasn’t been the case with the 22-year-old only playing 237 minutes of top-flight football this term.

We would like to see Roberts go out on loan this month to continue his development but if Bielsa’s comments are anything to go by, we won’t see this happen.
