Teammate of six years backs Rodrigo to succeed at Leeds United in farewell message
Leeds United are closing in on the signing of Valencia forward Rodrigo Moreno.
The Whites have already added the Spanish international to their squad list on the official website, as they close in on their record-signing at Elland Road.
David Anderson of the Mirror reported that Leeds will pay £27million upfront with add-ons that could take the deal past £30million – a massive statement from Andrea Radrizzani.
Dani Parejo has also left Valencia this summer and after six years of sharing a dressing room with Rodrigo, he backed him to succeed in the Premier League.
“After having shared a dressing room with you for six years, Rodrigo and having created a great friendship, I know perfectly well that you are going to break it in this new adventure,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I wish you the best, brother!”
Valencia are going into meltdown financially and have placed their all squad on the transfer list, with Parejo and Rodrigo two of their marquee players over the years.
Both Leeds and Villareal have capitalised on that, and from what we have seen, Rodrigo looks a perfect fit in West Yorkshire.
Victor Orta shared that it only took the 29-year-old “one-minute” to agree to the switch, with the director of football claiming his side have secured a world-class talent.
These are the players we want at Elland Road, not the likes of Jean-Kevin Augustin who struggled from day one and didn’t want to move permanently after his failed loan switch.
Time will tell, but Parejo has played with Rodrigo for a large part of his career, and this is one of the best messages we’ve seen, and fills us with hope for next season and beyond.
