Super Computer predicts Leeds United final Premier League position and points total

Leeds United are expected to finish in the top half of the Premier League according to FiveThirtyEight’s predictions.

The Whites have navigated a tricky run of fixtures unscathed and looking stronger than ever.

They’ve enjoyed respectable stalemates with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, while registering wins against Manchester City, Fulham and Sheffield United.

Leeds have also impressed against the traditional big six at home – not losing a single game. From that group, Tottenham Hotspur remain the only side left to play at Elland Road.

Their recent run of form has seen American predictions site FiveThirtyEight crunch the numbers to give Leeds United a 69 percent chance of finishing in the top half.

Currently, in 10th place, FiftyThirtyEight’s table shows that they’ve got a 34 percent chance of staying there, but there’s a 24 percent chance that they leapfrog Arsenal to 9th and a slim 11 percent chance of them making the top 8.

What a season

For a side that would’ve taken survival before a ball was kicked at the start of the season, Leeds continue to remain in contention for Europe with five games to go.

While our chances are slim and we would need several other results to go our way, the journey is what’s been why every Leeds fan is in a buoyant mood going into the end of the season.

We’re doing things right on and off the pitch, our U23s just won their league title, and Bielsa has played a very important role in getting us here.

He’s improved a majority of the players, if not all, since taking over at the helm.

Nobody thought Patrick Bamford would tear the top flight apart and score goals for fun, but he’s done exactly that.

Recently our defence has tightened which has seen us concede fewer goals while the likes of Stuart Dallas, Luke Ayling, Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha have been thriving in Bielsa’s cohesive system.
