Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink hails Dallas and Ayling impact for Leeds United

Former Leeds United striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink waxed lyrical about Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas before the Manchester United clash on Sunday.

The Burton Albion manager has been impressed with Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds performances this season but has picked out the duo to give them individual praise in their debut Premier League campaigns.

Speaking about Leeds on Sky Sports Premier League on Sunday afternoon, Hasselbaink said, as quoted by LeedsLive, “They are [perfect players for Bielsa] because A, they do everything Bielsa says and they do it well. We all know how he manages, it’s his way and they have taken it on board.

“The energy is important, because they play with that intensity, but they believe in their manager and they believe blindly in their manager – and you can see that.

“He says ‘we need to do that’, he says ‘we need to play one-vs-one’ and my man isn’t going to score – and they do it full-heartedly, all over the pitch.”

Running through brick walls

The likes of Ayling and Dallas are every manager’s dream, and we’re so lucky to have them at Elland Road with Bielsa in charge.

Ayling has played every single league game for us this season and he’s not just been a right-back but has deputised in central defence for a third of his games.

That versatility is important for Bielsa and for Leeds and that brings us to Dallas.

He’s had a fantastic season and his brace against Manchester City has really put him on the map.

He’s also been one of the few players over the last couple of seasons who’s constantly been delivering at least 7/10 performances every single game.

His consistency and willingness to adapt to new roles have been second to none. Along with Ayling, he’s been one of Bielsa’s first names on the teamsheet, and we can’t wait to see how far they can take this Leeds side.
