Super Computer predicts if Leeds United are set for relegation after Manchester City defeat

Leeds United are predicted to avoid relegation despite their 4-0 defeat against Manchester City on Saturday (April 30).

Before the Whites’ game kicked off against the Citizens, Burnley managed to turn around a one-goal deficit to beat Watford 2-1.

That put the Clarets above Leeds for the first time in many months and they’re now in a better position to avoid relegation.

FiveThirtyEight crunched the numbers on their Super Computer and they give the Whites a 72 per cent chance of survival.

Everton are the favourites to go down and are predicted to finish with 35 points – two fewer than Leeds and three fewer than Burnley.

17th place?

Finishing 17th is what any Leeds will bite your hand and take it away if you offer it now.

There’s no guarantee that the Whites are going to be safe, especially after the run Burnley have been on recently.

Leeds can go on such a run themselves too, but their fixtures are pretty gruelling.

They now have to navigate their way past Arsenal and Chelsea – both sides in the top 4.

While the Gunners are still fighting for Champions League spots, the Blues have almost qualified so they have already taken their foot off the pedal.

They even suffered a 5-1 thumping at home to Brentford so they’re certainly there for the taking.

Jesse Marsch just has to keep the players focused and drill these sorts of messages to them each day in training.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
