Steven Gerrard interested in Leeds United job as Elland Road speculation emerges
Steven Gerrard is interested in the vacant managerial position at Leeds United, according to The Telegraph.
The Sun report on 30 May that 43-year-old is being targetted by the Whites. Gerrard has been out of managment since October after he was sacked by Aston Villa.
The Telegraph now report on 2 June, that the former Rangers boss is interested in taking the job at Elland Road. It’s believed he is on the list which is currently being reviewed by Angus Kinnear.

Gerrard’s managerial career took off at Rangers, where he won the Scottish Premiership during the 2020/21 season.
Avoid
This is one for Kinnear to avoid. Leeds need a manager who is proven. It’s not about building a long-term Championship project, it’s about bouncing back to the Premier League at the first available oppotunity with no hiccups.
The Championship is back to its best and a slow start could be costly. Unfortunately, Gerrard’s only success came at Rangers. Scottish football has to be taken with a pinch of salt. Rangers and Celtic win pretty much every single match they play, unless it’s against one and another.

The SPFL isn’t a stern examination of a manager’s skill. It’s an easy ride for the most part. Gerrard is completely unproven in the English game and considering how tough the Championship is shaping up to me it’s a move the board should dodge.
One thing we can all agree on is that this saga needs a conclusion, and fast. It’s time for Andrea Radrizzani and the 49ers to pull their act together.
In other Leeds United news, the future of one Whites-linked manager is now up in the air after a high-level resignation at his current club.
