Stephen Craigan stunned by Leeds star Stuart Dallas & Northern Ireland v Italy
Leeds United star Stuart Dallas was once again at the heart of everything for Northern Ireland on Monday against Italy.
The utility man played at right wing-back as his country managed to hold the European champions to a goalless draw.
Stephen Cragian was stunned by Dallas and some of the football on show as a late chance fell his way only to be dragged wide.
Speaking on Sky Sports last night, Craigan was stunned as Dallas almost fired in the winner for his country against the European champions.
“I took my eyes off Stuart and just looked at the back of the net,” he said.
“I don’t know if it was hope or expectation, but excellent play all round. Some of the link-up play and build play has been exquisite.”
Dallas is simply unstoppable at times, and no one can argue they have a bigger engine than the Leeds man during these busy periods.
Not only does he play every single week for all 90 minutes under Marcelo Bielsa, but he also goes away on international duty with a smile on his face and does the same against some of the best teams in the world.
The defender turned midfielder has struggled to replicate his goalscoring antics from last season, so this could have sparked him into life in the final third.
Dallas’ finish and reaction told you everything you need to know though, and there is certainly some ring-rust in that department.
It will come, and we hope it does at Elland Road rather on international duty – we certainly need it.
