Spurs chief Fabio Paratici admires Leeds United attacker Dan James

Tottenham Hotspur director of football Fabio Paratici reportedly admires Leeds United attacker Dan James and they are considering making a move for him.

According to Football London, he is being viewed as a replacement for Bryan Gil who could be on his way out this summer.

Antonio Conte has previously gone on record to state that Spurs may be needing to bring in players if some of their first-team players leave.

Cash in

This was a shock transfer development and we’re not sure if Leeds would consider any advances for James.

Since moving to Elland Road last summer, he has struggled to adapt to the system even under Marcelo Bielsa – who brought him to the club.

He joined for big money and it was underwhelming to see it all unravel so horribly for Bielsa and James and fans would rather see the Welshman sold.

Even if they recoup half the money they paid for him, Leeds will be in a good position to then go on and reinvest the funds elsewhere.

It remains to be seen if Spurs are serious with their interest and these are just not initial enquiries.

Leeds, on their part, must show the willingness to cash in on his services as they know that they can do with better players and can go out and sign them while the window is still open.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could make a final push for an international striker after he was left out of his side’s matchday squad over the weekend.
