Sky Sports pundits go wild for Leeds star who 'Does not belong in the Championship'

With the decade coming to a close, many Leeds United fans will cast their minds back ten years and drool over the progress made in recent times.

Starting the decade in League One, the Whites have finished it with Marcelo Bielsa in control and on a charge to the Premier League.

Many have started to select their best team from this period, and many players from Bielsa’s tenure would stake a big claim to be chosen.

When you expand it to the best team the Championship has had to offer, it would be hard to think of more than possibly two players who deserve a spot.

Both Sky Sports pundits Don Goodman and David Prutton were tasked with selecting their Championship Team of the Decade, and they decided that Leeds star Pablo Hernandez was worthy of being selected for his efforts at Elland Road.

“We both agreed on Hernandez,” he told Sky Sports.

“He’s the only player in this team who has not been promoted… yet. But every time I commentate on him I simply say he does not belong in the Championship.”

Goodman highlighting how he believes the Spaniard doesn’t even belong in the league shows just how superb he has been in West Yorkshire – beating some big names such as Anthony Knockaert and Robert Snodgrass to this team.

Hernandez has been superb since arriving under Garry Monk and has single-handedly kept Leeds together at some points of his time at the club.

There is no doubting his influence in the final third, and his free role in the heart of the side has seen Leeds prosper when he is in possession, especially on the counter-attack.

His recent injury will be a massive blow to our promotion bid though, with Leeds only winning 30% of our games while he has been unavailable to Bielsa.
