Sky Sports pundit reacts amid confirmed Leeds United behind-scenes appointment

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United

Paul Robinson has “no doubt” that Nick Hammond would have had a significant influence on who will be the new head coach of Leeds United.

The former Celtic chief was confirmed as the club’s acting advisor on 15 June after Victor Orta’s departure.

The Guardian reported on 30 June that Daniel Farke is set to be named the Whites’ new boss after a number of weeks of talks.

“You bring people in for a reason. You bring people with a wealth of knowledge and experience and he’s got that. He’s going to be advising on a temporary basis,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“I have no doubt that he was sat in the interview process with the new manager. You bring in people like that for a reason.”

The Whites have previously been linked with a move for Norwich City chief Stuart Webber, who is set to depart Carrow Road after serving his notice.

Orta was sacked after the departure of Javi Gracia. The Spaniard has since taken up a similar role at Europa League winners Sevilla.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has made a claim on any “obstacles” the Whites may have with an announcement mooted in the coming days.
