Sky Sports pundit predicts Leeds showdown v Preston
Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted that Leeds United will fail to bounce back to winning ways when they take on Preston at Elland Road on Thursday.
Before their unbeaten run came to an end with defeat at Fulham on Saturday, Leeds had drawn with Cardiff to see themselves lose a small amount of ground in the race for automatic promotion.
However the Whites have still managed to maintain an eight-point gap between themselves and third-placed Sheffield Wednesday and their last two results could be seen as a minor blip in an otherwise successful season.
Ex-Leeds midfielder Prutton does not see his former club getting a win against fellow promotion chasers Preston when they make the journey to Elland Road on Saturday.
Prutton has tipped the game to end as a 1-1 draw.
“Leeds have drawn and lost their last two games. But any fan of the club would have bitten your hand off to be nine points clear on Boxing Day,” said Prutton on the Sky Sports website.

“If Preston win this one they could be right back in the battle for an automatic-promotion spot. It will be a battle and I think they could leave Elland Road with a point.”
Preston are a very good team and one that Leeds will take seriously on Boxing Day.
However Alex Neil’s side has a poor record away from home, having won just two matches on the road in 11 fixtures this season.
Leeds, on the other hand, have the second-best home record, second to their upcoming opponents.
If someone is going to win on Thursday it is going to be Leeds but a draw is also something that is on the cards.
We just don’t expect to see the Yorkshire club lose for a second game in a row.
