Sky Sports pundit predicts Leeds clash v Boro, says Bielsa’s had ‘massive boost’ over one player
David Prutton has predicted that Leeds United will continue their winning streak by beating Middlesbrough 2-1 on Wednesday night.
Leeds travel to The Riverside after successive 1-0 victories against both Bristol City and Reading got their bid for automatic promotion back on track following a shaky start to 2020.
Middlesbrough’s form has been the complete opposite with the North-East club not winning a Championship fixture since New Years Day.
Boro are now just three points above the Championship’s relegation zone and Sky pundit Prutton has predicted Leeds to pile more misery on them this week.
“I’d imagine Jonathan Woodgate will be desperate for this season to end! It’s been a real rollercoaster for Boro this term and they are within touching distance of the drop zone at the time of speaking so this is an important week on Teesside,” said Prutton on the Sky Sports website.
“Leeds seem to have stabilised since that draw with Brentford earlier in the month and the fact under-fire goalkeeper Kiko Casilla has kept back-to-back clean sheets will be a massive boost for Marcelo Bielsa. Away win, for me.”
On the face of it, it seems that Leeds have ground out their results against Bristol City and Reading with 1-0 scorelines for both of them.
However for those who watched those games, that is not the case at all.
Leeds battered both teams and really should have won by a lot more but the fact they haven’t been taking their chances this season is why they have not ran away with it at the top.
Leeds usually do score so keeping a clean sheet is a must at the moment and Casilla needs to be praised for his role in that – especially against Reading on Saturday.
In other Leeds United news, this player has been spotted wearing a wrist brace at Elland Road.
