Sky Sports pundit gushes over Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier v Chelsea

Tony Jones was blown away by Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier after his heroics to deny Chelsea an opening goal on 4 March.

Kai Havertz appeared clean through on goal and was denied by a tremendous save by Meslier.

Jones, a Sky Sports commentator, was quick to praise the Frenchman while commentating on the Premier League world feed at 15:15.

He said, “That was an outstanding save. Havertz on his weak foot should be doing more.”

One way traffic

It’s been one way traffic here and Leeds have been extremely passive in this game with their best chance coming in the 30th minute.

Georginio Rutter set it up for Brenden Aaronson but that shot was blocked and well held by the Blues keeper.

However, apart from that they did not create much and had it not been for Chelsea’s poor finishing, Leeds could been down a goal or two.

They need to do more on the counter attack as Chelsea are leaving plenty of gaps which Leeds have the ability to exploit.

Willy Gnonto needs to come on in the second half as he’s got the ability to make the difference in the final third.

He’s got good close control and the ability to beat defenders due to his dribbling ability and we’ll be surprised if he isn’t brought on sooner or later.

In other Leeds United news, the club may now face a losing battle to keep their star player at Elland Road beyond the summer transfer window.
