Sky Sports pundit delivers verdict on Leeds United ace Patrick Bamford injury

Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison believes Patrick Bamford’s injury is devastating for Leeds United.

The English striker returned to full fitness and then relapsed as he spends another spell on the sidelines.

He is now unlikely to play again this season, leaving Leeds in a spot of bother.

Discussing this on PL Today, Morrison said, “I think the main thing is Bamford they need to keep him fit. The way he chases balls down is incredible. Big miss with his injury. Possibly missing the whole season.”

Bad planning

Leeds have struggled in front of goal all season and it’s down to the fact that Bamford has not been available.

This is all down to bad team planning and they’re now paying the price for it and luckily are not in the relegation zone because how bad other teams have been.

Dan James has been played out of position as a nine to cope with Bamford’s absence while Joe Gelhardt has only been used sparingly.

Rodrigo came to Elland Road as an out-and-out striker but has only played a handful of games there.

The lack of planning in the transfer window has led to Leeds’ struggle in front of goal.

Bamford gave the Leeds staff and fans a glimmer of hope on his return, before relapsing again.

However, it would be a miracle if we even see him on the pitch before the end of the season.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
