Six Leeds United players to exit Elland Road as clauses emerge – Sky Sports pundit

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United

Paul Robinson has predicted six first team players to exit Leeds United during the summer transfer window.

According to The Telegraph on 18 May, a number of the Whites’ players have buy-out clauses inserted into their current agreements, in order to cushion the blow of relegation.

Robinson believes it will be a summer of rebuild at Elland Road, with the likes of Willy Gnonto, Tyler Adams and Patrick Bamford all departing.

“Leeds fortunately haven’t got that [players out of contract],” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“They are, financially, in a much better place that they were in 2004. You look at the players who could move on. Illan Meslier, Brenden Aaronson, Willy Gnonto, Rodrigo, Tyler Adams and potentially Patrick Bamford.

“Then you look at what you’ve got left, there is going to be a rebuild. That’s just natural with relegation.”

At present, much of the focus has been on Andrea Radrizzani and the 49ers’ takeover. It’s believed the American Enterprises are still keen on purchasing the club.

However, much of the attention has centred around Radrizzani, with the Italian reportedly using Elland Road as leverage in his bid to buy soon-to-be Serie B side, Sampdoria.

It’s unclear whether Leeds’ historical home has actually been used as collateral in the potential deal.

In other Leeds United news, the future of one Whites-linked manager is now up in the air after a high-level resignation at his current club.
