Simon Jordan slams ‘irrelevant’ Angus Kinnear after Andrea Radrizzani Leeds United development

Simon Jordan believes what Angus Kinnear thinks about Andrea Radrizzani’s latest decision at Leeds United is “irrelevant.”

The Whites owner offered to use Elland Road as security for a £26million bank loan intended to help him complete a takeover of Sampdoria [The Athletic, 1 June].

Moreover, Radrizzani did not consult his co-owners before making the decision, supposedly leaving the likes of Kinnear and Paraag Marathe dumbfounded.

“I don’t think they’re in a great place,” Jordan said live on talkSPORT. “But it’s undeniable, in my view, that the situation surrounding the Leeds United relegation is because you’ve got two factions in the boardroom that are pulling in different directions.

“Andrea is not an easy person to deal with. But your chief executive works for you, you can tell him what you want because he’s an employee, so what Angus Kinnear thinks is irrelevant as far as I’m concerned.”

Sticky situation

It really is a sticky situation at Leeds, although the club are more than used to such situations by now. The boardroom is a real mess at the minute, with this latest twist from Radrizzani only making matters worse.

It is, however, the Whites fans that are perhaps the biggest losers in this entire ordeal, with the passionate fanbase constantly kept in the dark about which direction their club is heading in.

Their relegation to the Championship has increased the level of anxiety around Elland Road, but there remains hope that 49ers Enterprises can find a suitable resolution to the problem.

Kinnear and his fellow board members certainly won’t be happy to have been ignorant of this new development from Radrizzani, but the Italian will simply say he was acting in his best interests, and at the end of the day he does have plenty of control at Elland Road.

In other Leeds United news, the future of one Whites-linked manager is now up in the air after a high-level resignation at his current club.
