Simon Jordan and Jim White explode at Leeds United fans after anti-board chants v Brighton

Simon Jordan could not believe that Leeds United fans were chanting for Andrea Radrizzani to leave the club during the 1-1 draw against Brighton on Sunday [15 May].

The home fans also chanted for Marcelo Bielsa before Pascal Struijk headed home the last-minute equaliser to help the Whites out of the bottom three.

Jordan labelled the chanting as “unfathomable” and namedropped the likes of Ken Bates to show how bad it has been compared to Radrizzani and his reign.

Speaking live on talkSPORT’s White and Jordan on Monday [16 May, 10:28 am], Jordan could not believe what he was watching at Elland Road.

“I understand they were singing for the board to be gone,” he said. “You’ve got to look at the landscape of football fans and what some of these football fans do.

“It’s unfathomable. Whatever you may be thinking about Radrizzani right now, this is a club that sat outside of the Premier League for 16 years, went through two or three virtual administrations where Ken Bates packaged them in and out financial difficulties.

“Now you have some adversity, you’re going to chant ‘sack the board’, I don’t know what to say to people.”

Jim White also responded to the chanting, admitting: “It’s insane.”

Insane?

This was all from frustration.

It is very understandable when you look at the squad depth within that side against Brighton, with Struijk the most senior name on the bench for Jesse Marsch to choose from.

Not signing players in January was certainly one of the main reasons why we are in this mess, and that falls on the head of Radrizzani, who is sitting pretty in the directors’ seats.

Leeds fans will explode if this weekend ends in relegation, and we have to pray that Burnley and Everton don’t pick up results in midweek to leave it in our hands at Brentford.

Being in the Premier League, you have to keep investing in your squad or you will be left behind.

With the television money available every year alone, Leeds should easily have been able to invest more and now that we have posted profits, it makes it more baffling.

Hopefully, this doesn’t backfire and we end up going down – this is going to be a huge week packed with nerves.
