'Says it all' - Sun journo reacts to reported £6.3m transfer story involving Leeds
Alan Nixon has seemingly poured cold water on the prospect of Leeds United making a move for Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne any time soon.
A report from the print edition of Turkish outlet Sozcu, as shared by Sport Witness, suggests that Nottingham Forest are going to try and beat the Whites in their race to land the hitman with a bid of around £6.3 million.
Leeds were previously linked with the 28-year-old by Haberturk, but are yet to make any kind of formal move for the hitman.
And according to The Sun reporter, they are unlikely to any time soon either.
When asked about Sozcu’s report on Twitter, he replied: This one again.
“How could either club be willing to pay €7m [£6.3m] when neither know what division they’re in?

“His club wants rid… says it all.”
Nixon’s short thrift here seems like a pretty concrete indication that there isn’t too much substance to these Diagne links.
Of course, he doesn’t rule out a move entirely, and things could change if and when we secure promotion, but at this specific moment in time, it would would appear it’s a no-go.
It’s a shame as well, because Diagne looks like he could be a fairly decent signing.
As per Wyscout, the 28-year-old’s shot accuracy is 14.6% better than Patrick Bamford’s in 2019/29, while his xG is 0.36 higher per match, and his goals per game ratio is superior by 0.22.
He also outdoes Bamford in terms of successful dribbles, aerial duels won, and passes completed per game.
Maybe this one will get revisited in the summer, but for the moment, it does feel like it might be a case of idle talk being perpetuated to try and drum up some interest in the player.
