San Francisco 49ers' new investment 'Unlikely' to be used by Leeds United in January
The new investment from the San Francisco 49ers is “unlikely” to be used by Leeds United in the January transfer window.
Leeds Live reporter Joe Donnohue revealed on the latest edition of The Blue, White, and Yellow podcast that he doesn’t think the money will be used to improve the squad.
This is because of Leeds’ stance on the January transfer window and also the fact that the money will be used elsewhere instead.
He said: “That sort of injection is used for infrastructure rather than going on more volatile expenses such as wages or transfer fees.
“I think it would be unlikely that would be spent on transfers in January, especially because we know what the club’s stance towards January transfers are.”
This might not be what Leeds fans want to read, but it seems as if the Whites won’t be going on some mad January transfer spree even with this new investment.
It is good to see that the funds are going to be invested in the long term future of the club.
However, given the tough start to the season, you can see why some Whites fans would want to see the club back Marcelo Bielsa heavily in the transfer window.
Despite this, it seems very unlikely that the Whites will be spending much in January, which you could say was a risk, but it could also be a wise decision.
Remember, Leeds have had a lot of injuries this season to key players, and when they are all back, you would expect the Whites to move away from the relegation zone.
So, though some fans might want the new 49ers money to be spent on players, that seems unlikely, and the money will be spent in other areas instead.
