Paul Merson predicts Leeds clash v Spurs on Sunday

Paul Merson has backed Spurs to beat Leeds United in their Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon.

The Sky Sports regular has predicted that it will finish 2-0 to the home side as the international break finally comes to an end.

Harry Kane has been backed to score both goals too after he scored seven in his last two outings for England during the break.

Writing in his Sportskeeda predictions column, Merson admitted that he believes it is almost a certainty that he finds the back of the net.

“I’d be really shocked if Harry Kane doesn’t score in this game,” he wrote.

“The international break was really good for him – it doesn’t get any better than seven goals from two games. It could turn out to be the kick-start he needs to get his scoring boots on in the Premier League and the way Leeds United play could also work in his favour.

“I’m going for a 2-0 Tottenham win in Antonio Conte’s first home game in charge of the club, with Kane continuing his fine form by scoring both goals.”

Keep it away.

Well then, it looks as though the main goal will be to keep it away from the likes of Kane and Heung-Min Son.

Leeds will be looking to dominate the ball, and given that Spurs are missing some important players, that could be made easier.

Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg and Christian Romero are two players that Antonio Conte has built his side around, and when you add that Son has been a doubt too – that is brilliant news for the Whites.

Marcelo Bielsa could be welcoming back Junior Firpo and Luke Ayling which would counteract that perfectly and leave us with a near-full strength squad.

Leeds haven’t exactly had the best record against the so-called top-six since promotion, but now it is time to make that right on Sunday and prove Merson wrong.
