San Francisco 49ers have deal in place to buy Leeds United for £475m
The San Francisco 49ers have a deal in place to complete a full Leeds United takeover for a fee that could be north of £400million, according to David Ornstein.
In his recent piece for The Athletic, Ornstein wrote that there is an option for 100 per cent control of Leeds to pass to 49ers Enterprises by January 2024.
This will also include full ownership of Elland Road and a full buy-out is set to be executed by 2024.

Ornstein said, “Some sources have told The Athletic that the deal could be worth as much as £475 million.
“The overall cost of acquiring 100 per cent of shares includes the money already paid for 49ers Enterprises’ existing stake, leaving a sum of more than £200 million to pay.”
Massive
The valuation of the club has skyrocketed since Andrea Radrizzani took charge of the club.
He bought Leeds for £45million and has seen their valuation in four years increase tenfold.
A lot of it has to do with what Marcelo Bielsa has brought to the table, but due credit must be given to Radz and everyone on the Leeds board to make this happen.
Should 49ers complete their takeover, as they’re expected to, the club could soon be run in a different direction.

Clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal all have American owners and have seen a growing lack of transparency about what goes on behind the scenes.
Fans appear to have been ostracised which is not something that one would associate Radz and the Elland Road faithful.
It remains to be seen how this transpires and what it means for the club in the future, but these truly are exciting times to be a Leeds fan.
