Leeds United want to sign Feyenoord youngster Orkun Kokcu

Leeds United are reportedly keen on signing Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu and have been watching him closely.

According to Freek Jansen, AS Roma and Sevilla are two other clubs keen on securing his services and have also scouted him like Leeds.

Despite being only 20, Kokcu has already found himself become a regular in Feyenoord’s first team and is now being linked with a move away from the Netherlands.

Speaking on the Dutch TV show Studio Voetbal episode on November 28, Jansen, a Voetbal International reporter said, “AS Roma, Sevilla and Leeds are watching Feyenoord’s Orkun Kokcu closely.”

Worth considering

Despite his relatively young age, he’s amassed years of experience playing in the Dutch top flight and could be ready for a move away from the club.

He started his career as a conventional midfielder, but has since become more of a versatile attacking player who’s capable of being deployed on the wings as well.

This season, he’s scored one goal and provided three assists in the Eredivisie and has also bagged a strike in the Europa League.

Despite being 20, his stock is at an all-time high and so is the interest in his services.

Leeds desperately need a Rodrigo-esque player who can play as an attacking midfielder as well as on the flanks whenever needed.

He was also praised by The Sun’s Warren Haughton in 2018, who was gushing over his “incredible” assist tally.

Kocku would certainly be a terrific signing for Leeds and it remains to be seen whether or not the club bring him to Elland Road soon.
