Sam Matterface shares Leeds United main weakness, predicts Premier League result v Liverpool

Sam Matterface has backed Liverpool to beat Leeds United 3-1 on Saturday evening to heap further pressure on Jesse Marsch’s shoulders.

The Whites head into the fixture without a win in eight Premier League fixtures and currently sit in the relegation zone for the first time this season.

Matterface feels that because the goals have dried up for Leeds in recent weeks, it should be a comfortable afternoon for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Talking on talkSPORT Breakfast [07:43, 28 October], he said: “In Leeds matches recently their best asset was scoring goals and that seems to have deserted them with just six goals in their last eight games.

“Liverpool won’t miss the chances they did at Nottingham Forest and look what happened in the week, I’ll go 3-1 Liverpool, Nunez to score.”

Tough task

This is going to be a really tough task for Marsch and Leeds, with Liverpool still very much a force to be reckoned with, particularly at home.

Despite the growing calls for the American to be sacked, it’s hard not to feel a little bit sorry for him considering the huge injury list that he is currently dealing with.

It’s fair to say not many of the Elland Road faithful will be expecting his side to salvage anything from their trip to Anfield, and as long as they don’t get thumped by Liverpool, Marsch should live to fight another day.

The upcoming match against Bournemouth is the fixture that could well define Leeds’ season. If they can beat the Cherries convincingly there’s a good chance Marsch will be in charge until after the World Cup.

However, another home defeat will leave the American almost certainly facing the sack. The international break does seem like the ideal opportunity for the club to make a change if results don’t turn around in the next couple of weeks.
